An Invitation to Piercing Excitement: The "2026 Hanok Village Traditional Yeonhui Parade"

 

The streets of Jeonju Hanok Village are bustling with fervent excitement. Marking its meaningful 10th anniversary since its inception in 2017, the "Hanok Village Traditional Yeonhui Parade" returns as an even richer street theater festival.

 

Alongside the overwhelming flag performance of "Jeonju Gijeopnori"—a living folklore heritage of Jeonju—a spirited "Madanggeuk" (traditional outdoor theater) where the audience and actors become one on the road unfolds across the entire Hanok Village. It offers an exotic experience where the usually serene alleys of the Hanok Village come alive like a festival venue from the Joseon Dynasty.

 

Having established itself as Jeonju's signature street culture over the past decade, this parade allows you to fully immerse yourself in the most authentic yet dynamic Korean joy and elegance. Jeonju's true excitement is just beginning for the audience who will become the main characters of the festival and mingle together.

 

■ Location: Jeonju Hanok Village (Namcheongyo Bridge – Gyeonggijeon Shrine)

■ Schedule: April 18 – October 31, 2026 / Every Saturday at 15:00 (60 mins)
