“Byeolhyangdanjeonira”
“Byeolhyangdanjeonira” is a creative pansori theater performance that brings the stories of Jeonju, once hidden within old wooden printing blocks, back to life through song.This Jeonju-style madang changgeuk is inspired by Wanjanbon, the historic printed books that represent the printing heritage of Seopo Street in Jeonju.
The story follows the journey of the genius singer Yundol as he searches for the true meaning of storytelling, warmly and dynamically portraying the value of records and the lives of ordinary people.The stage harmoniously blends the excitement of traditional pansori with modern sensibilities, delivering deep emotion and resonance to audiences.
In particular, the witty stage direction—where characters from the old printed texts seem to come alive—and the energetic performances of young sori singers heighten the audience’s immersion, creating a special stage where tradition and modernity coexist.
