An Ecological Zoo Where People and Animals Thrive Together

Jeonju Zoo is a green oasis in the city, open year-round without holidays so visitors can enjoy it anytime. Rather than simply displaying animals, the zoo continues to improve its facilities and implement enrichment programs, maintaining its role for over 40 years as an ecological zoo where both people and animals can coexist happily in nature. Home to more than 100 species—including mammals, fish, reptiles, and birds—the zoo creates environments suited to each animal’s natural behavior, allowing visitors to observe and better understand their habits and feeding activities. Notable areas include the Elephant Zone and Grassland Forest, designed with a mud-bathing area reflecting elephants’ natural habits; the Monkey Forest, where playful and curious monkeys freely climb trees and ropes; and the Wolf Forest, a spacious habitat of about 800 pyeong where wolves can hide among trees or run freely across open ground. For those interested in learning more about wildlife, an animal ecology interpretation program led by professional guides is available twice a day (excluding weekends) during March–June and September–November.

A Place Full of Nature, Healing, and Fun

Beyond the animals, the zoo is beautifully landscaped with seasonal plants, making it an enjoyable and relaxing destination in any season. From the tree-lined entrance road to flower gardens throughout the grounds, a herb garden for rest, and cherry blossom paths perfect for photos, the entire space offers healing moments both inside and outside the enclosures. Since February 2024, DreamLand—newly renovated and reopened—adds even more enjoyment. With gentle rides suitable for children rather than extreme attractions, it is a must-visit amusement park for family trips. Jeonju Zoo is highly recommended as a place where families and couples can relax in nature with animals and enjoy fun rides at DreamLand.
