Ajung Lake, a Romantic Walking Road You’ll Want to Walk
Located in Uadong 1(il)-ga, Ajung Lake was known as “Ajung Reservoir (Ingyeo Reservoir)” until about three years ago. With a full water surface area of 26.05 hectares and a total storage capacity of 1.388 million cubic meters, it was once a large agricultural reservoir. However, as times changed and its role as a water supply source diminished, the city renamed it Ajung Lake in March 2015 and began restoring the area into a pleasant urban space while preserving its ecological value.
Today, Ajung Lake is surrounded by a floating deck walkway, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery in a calm and peaceful atmosphere. A waterfront deck plaza that can accommodate around 200 people provides a space for performances and festivals. The true charm of Ajung Lake shines at night, when soft lighting illuminates the walkway. With lights installed along the waterside path, it has become one of the best places in Jeonju to enjoy night views. Why not take a stroll around Ajung Lake, where the moonlight reflects softly on the tranquil water?
Ajung Lake by Day and Night
Walking slowly along the deck path, the scenery unfolds like gentle ripples that soothe the mind. The soft breeze creates delicate waves, while reflections of mountains and sky on the water form picturesque views. In spring, cherry blossoms line the path, welcoming visitors, and in seasons filled with lush greenery, the vibrant reflections on the water bring a refreshing sense of coolness. In autumn, mountains painted in vivid colors spread out like a folding screen, while the deep blue sky is mirrored on the lake.
Ajung Lake displays its beauty in different colors throughout all four seasons, and at night, it reveals yet another charm. Well-designed lighting allows visitors to enjoy evening walks, making it a popular spot for those seeking beautiful night scenery in Jeonju. The illuminated deck path feels like walking across a bridge of light, while the reflections shimmering on the water resemble stars scattered beneath the surface.
