A lakeside garden where water and wind rest
Sebyeong Park is a lakeside park where the city meets nature. Its name originates from Sebyeongjeong, a military pavilion from late Joseon that once stood in Jeonju, where weapons were washed. Carrying the legacy of that historic pavilion, the place has been reborn today as a peaceful retreat for citizens. Around Sebyeong Lake stretch walking trails, a lawn plaza, an arboretum, and shaded rest areas. Surrounded by water, trees, and wind, the park holds the colors of all four seasons—spring cherry blossoms and canola flowers, summer lotus blooms, and autumn foliage gently painting the lake as the seasons pass.
A picnic haven where people and scenery meet
The lawn plaza of Sebyeong Park is always filled with mats, laughter, and people relaxing. Children fly kites, and couples share lunch with the lake as their backdrop. At sunset, golden light spreads across Sebyeong Lake, turning the park into a warm painting, while soft lights guide evening walkers along the pathways. A breeze ripples across the water’s surface, and citizens resting beneath the trees find a moment of quiet in its movement. Sebyeong Park is Jeonju’s renewed urban garden—a place where history, memory, everyday life, and emotion come together, revealing the city’s afternoon at its most beautiful.
