The Heart of Jeonju! Jeonjucheon Stream
Jeonjucheon Stream flows from southeast to northwest in Jeonju and is the Class 1 local stream with a length of 30km and a drainage basin of 31.53㎢.
Jeonjucheon Stream is originated from Seulchi, Gwanchon-myeon, Imsil-gun, 26km from the southeastern region of Jeonju and runs through the middle of the downtown area.
It is the first branch of Mangyeonggang River and joins Samcheon Stream in Chucheon, Seosin-dong.
Slender Shinner and otter, the Natural Heritage, live in the upper regions of the Jeonjucheon Stream and Jeonjucheon Stream is the only stream with such Natural Heritage of all downtown streams in Korea.
The successful eco-stream restoration project of Jeonjucheon Stream is mentioned as an exemplary eco-stream restoration case.
