The Gijije Reservoir is a large reservoir made in 1934 to supply water for farming.
As Jeonbuk Innovation City and Manseong Zone were developed, the purpose of Gijije Reservoir was changed.
Its function was changed from the ‘place to supply water for farming’ to the ‘lifeline of the city, one axis of the urban ecosystem’.
Thus, Jeonju made a trail and formed the eco park.
The residents complained because the trail was not connected to the park, so Jeonju formed a circular trail.
The new circular trail has a 1.16km long floating deck on its total length of 1.79km for citizens to appreciate the scenery as if walking on water.
There is also a 603m-long clay road and a 24m-long bridge.
